Frigo Plus realized a new NH3 project for a client in Kinshasa, Congo. The factory is producing margarine with capacity of 2500kg per hour. For purpose of cooling the margarine during mixing and packaging we designed an ammonia refrigeration plant. Custom compressor skid is built by Frigo Plus with two Bitzer screw compressors, type OSNA7472 and total capacity of 210kW at evaporating temperature of -20C and condensation of 35C. Skid is manufactured at our company and shipped to the client

Installation work and start up of the system had been completed in time period of 6 weeks.

Oil cooling is by thermosyphon principle where the oil cooler is fed with Ammonia from Evapco evaporative condenser.

The system is controlled by Siemens S7-1200 PLC where the operator can monitor and control the refrigeration system through a 12 inch touch screen. Plant is fully automated and connected to the margarine plant. As soon as the production starts the Ammonia refrigeration plant starts automatically and keeps the margarine temperature at desired set point.
